To be self-regulated in their learning,
students need to go through three phases:
-
Planning: Students set their
goals to complete the task, session or course. In this step, students use their
perception of the learning environment, their own abilities and motivation to
set their own learning standards.
-
Performance: After planning, students
experience the real class. This is the time they monitor their learning by comparing
their progress against their set standards.
-
Reflection: to evaluate their learning
experience, students engage feedback, ideas and concepts to improve their
future learning.
